What Suite adds on top of Pro
The core mixer is Serato DJ Pro, with either two or four decks, library management, effects, support for a wide variety of controllers and club mixers, and stem separation. With a Suite license, Serato DVS is unlocked for vinyl and CDJ-style control, Serato Video, Flip and advanced FX are included, along with Serato Play for laptop-only performance and Serato Studio in a single license. Once signed in, expansions will be displayed under ‘Settings’, and there will be no individual expansion installers.
Most Mac users use a supported controller/mixer with Serato; create prep crates and beatgrids in the Library; perform using stems, loops and FX as required. Suite is designed for DJs that require DVS or video in the same bill, or for those that switch between Play. club gear and Play. laptop sets in hotel rooms. Local files are alongside streaming libraries like Beatport, TIDAL, SoundCloud, Spotify (with Premium), and Apple Music (where available) and all hardware can be used by the app without a subscription, except for Suite, which is a paid expansion for the app and is included with the hardware when unlocked for a Pro subscription.

PROS
- If you need multiple expansions, you’ll be able to save money by purchasing one bundle of Suite that includes all of them.
- A modern library workflow, stem based mixing and wide range of hardware support, all characteristics of Serato DJ Pro 4.x, are used in clubs and home setups.
- Streaming integrations enable you to integrate local files with Beatport, SoundCloud, TIDAL, Spotify (Premium) and more.
- Even harmonic sets can be played smoothly without the obvious artifacts that cheaper stretchers tend to cause, thanks to Pitch ‘n Time DJ plus keysync.
- As Beatsource comes to an end, and DJs are migrating their libraries to Beatport, it is important to note that Version 4.0.5 is the first official release to support automatic metadata migration.
CONS
- If you’re just looking for basic 2-deck mixing, then you’re better off with DJ Pro alone ($11.99/month on Serato pricing) and you’ll be paying more for Serato DJ Suite.
- Specific controllers, expansion modules, or DVS equipment are still essential to many advanced workflows, and Play is not a replacement for a full club rig when you’re DJing from a laptop.
- If you use streaming and migration features, you expect to have ACTIVE subscriptions (Spotify Premium, Beatport etc.) and STABLE network conditions, which can make things more difficult when going on the road or when you are inside a festival.
- The changelog for 4.0.5 is rather short, with all major features of 4.0.x (Spotify playlist editing, new controller support, macOS Tahoe) appearing in the surrounding builds, which is why it’s not a huge drop in features.
- No native iPad/Linux path and with stems and video, performance is still dependent on machine CPU/RAM, so Serato’s ecosystem is Windows and Mac only.
